When to call
Signs your heat pump needs a repair
Often a reversing valve, low refrigerant or low water flow.
A safety lockout: the unit is protecting itself and needs a diagnosis.
A weak capacitor or a compressor near the end of its life.
A blocked condensate drain or a leaking hose.
An electrical fault that should not be reset repeatedly.
Restricted airflow or a refrigerant problem.
How we work
A repair, step by step
Tell us the building, the suite and what is happening.
Amperage, water temperatures and pressures, recorded and explained.
Repair and replacement options side by side when the repair is major.
The unit is tested in heating and cooling before we leave.
Repair or replace a condo heat pump?
Minor parts are always worth replacing. For a failed compressor or a leaking coil, we compare the cost of the repair with a new chassis: on a unit over fifteen years old, a major repair that costs more than about a third of a replacement is rarely the better choice. You get both prices in writing.
Can the unit be replaced without opening the wall?
Often, yes. Many heat pumps can be replaced with a new chassis that slides into the existing cabinet and reconnects to the same water lines, with no drywall work.
